for 1889, 24 1/4in. blued non-tapered round barrel marked on the top 'WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT' over 'KINGS IMPROVEMENT' and patent dates to 1860, dove-tailed nickel blade fore-sight, buckhorn rear-sight, flat sided action with stepped nocks form and plain dust-cover, central hammer, the top-tang marked 'MODEL 1873', walnut butt-stock with crescent heel-plate, traces of colour to the finger-lever, walnut beavertail fore-end with iron nose-cap and half-length magazine, the whole retaining a strong amount of original faded finish, with certificate of proof
